With six generations of manufacturing excellence, Charles Bentley is a global supplier of stylish and high quality home, garden and brushware products. Its vision is help its audience create a beautiful, comfortable and tranquil home.
As part of the company's vision to be recognised and loved as a leading homeware brand, Charles Bentley merged with its sister company, BuyDirect4U, in 2019. I was tasked with rewriting copy from both company’s websites to sit on new category pages. The copy needed to inspire the consumer, while being optimised for SEO keywords.
I used storytelling to achieve this and instead of simply discussing product features (the WHAT of Charles Bentley), I encouraged consumers to imagine how the products would enhance their home lives (the WHY of choosing Charles Bentley over competing brands).
The end result was category pages for Charles Bentley that were rich with relevant keywords, but still had a personality and didn't feel forced for the sake of SEO. The pages spoke to the company's commitment to quality in an approachable way, a 'welcome back' for existing customers and an encouragement for new website visitors to click through to view products in more detail.
My experience working with Sarah at RBH, inspired me to get back in touch in 2019. Sarah was commissioned to help me and the team with the rebrand of the then BuyDirect4U website (now CharlesBentley.com), helping us to create new and update historical, category content.
